Deactivated Australian L2 A1 heavy-barrelled version of the classic L1 A1 Self-Loading Rifle, manufactured by Lithgow. These were used by the Austrialian army in Vietnam and modified by the Austrialian SAS for jungle warfare.
The serial number on this example indicates 1964 production. After military service this rifle was then issued to the Singapore Police Force as is indicated by the SPF stamp on the receiver. Unlike quite a few other deactivated L2A1s, when they crop up, this one retains its correct rear sight, correct 30 round magazine and the muzzle booster. It comes supplied with its sling.
Deactivated in 1997 it cocks, dry-fires, and field strips. Supplied with its Birmingham Proof House deactivation certificate. Conditions apply (see T & Cs).
