Inert German First World War Wurfgranaten Taube / 'pidgeon' fragmentation grenade, designed to be fired from the Granaterwerfer 16 spigot mortar. This example was sectioned after recovery. The nose  unscrews and it retains its its 7.92mm propelling cartridge, which is inert.
