Inert Second World War German M42 stick grenade. This example is a late-war production as is indicated by the 4 triangular cuts rather than screws to hold the rain cap in place. The star shaped safety cap is from the First World War. This grenade retains its porcelain ball. The metalwork has the patina of an historic battlefield item from the mid twentieth century which adds to its appeal. The grenade and safety cap unscrew easily and sit tight in place when screwed on.
