The Viven-Bessières ("VB") rifle grenade was introduced by the French army in 1916 and used by the US Army from 1917 in their M1917 Enfield and M1903 Springfield rifles. The grenade was placed in a cup discharger and a live round was fired which ignited the fuze and propelled the grenade. This is a really nice inert example.
